Sub-aquatic inspections with communication and closed circuit video.

A class inspection is done in the name of a classification society, this to ensure that the vessel has the minimum requirements to navigate safely; It should be noted that these inspections are carried out with prior certification of said company. As established in the SOLAS Reg. 1996. II-1/3 to 1, each vessel is subscribed by a classification society.

With the inspection of the class, the aim is to verify the physical condition of the boat, and its life time, in order to reduce the chances of a maritime accident or any event that could endanger the integrity of the crew and the cargo.

This operation is carried out under strict technical and safety standards. It must be deep and objective, that is, in this inspection each area of the vessel must be evaluated, paying special attention to the critical areas that actively participate in the navigability of the vessel, this in order to find the slightest inconvenience.

The main areas to be inspected during the process are:

  • Rudder.
  • Propeller.
  • Bottom sockets / grids.
  • Stabilizers.
  • Side of the vessel.
  • Flat Bottom.

Ideally class inspections are carried out in dry dock; this process as established in the SOLAS Convention and certified by the classes must be carried out without exception every 5 years. After mutual agreement between the classes and by an exception agreed together with the signatories of the agreement, the inspection site is reformed in such a way that the class inspection is carried out in dry dock every 10 years, while the rest is carried out on the dock, documenting the entire video process for subsequent approval.
